Three Steps to Measure your CMI Lean Agility®
When using the CMI Lean Agility® tool for lean agility assessment one should go through the following basic steps :
Step 1: Briefing, Scoping, Tailoring, Planning Familiarizing with current competitive performance within the industry, as well as ambitions, threats, opportunities of the business. Scoping of the CMI Lean Agility® measurement: sector, geography, site, business unit, business processes. Loading of the CMI Lean Agility® assessment tool with the tailored battery of statements that correspond to the agreed scope.
Step 2: Executing of the CMI Lean Agility® Assessments All units are assessed using the scheme that was developed in Step 1. Assessments are done during intense and carefully monitored work sessions with selected middle management representatives of the unit being measured.
Step 3: Analysis, Recommendations and Reporting The assessment results are analysed and interpreted. Recommendations for improvement are identified and presented to the top management team.
Timing: these 3 steps can normally be completed within a one month time span, dependent on availability of resources.
Next Step: Actioning It is essential that the assessment leads to action. We strongly advise to use the measuring results as a basis for setting ambitions and triggering improvement actions that are aligned in the same direction of achieving higher levels of lean agility.
We recommend the use of ‘go-for-it’ workshops, which create strong momentum to work on high-leverage initiatives.
